What would you do in an emergency?

Please note: This is an affiliate link to EmergencyWP, feel free to visit independently, but if you wish to purchase then please support me and use my link… To be honest, as I am writing this article I change my stance, this was a little bit of a promo post but actually it’s an endorsement. I think the product is fantastic and works exceedingly well.

Life changes and so do circumstances unfortunately, and so, this got me thinking about how my business would be looked after, how my customers would be taken care of and more importantly how my family would be taken care of.

Now things happen and sadly there is one inevitable that will happen in life, are you prepared and would you trusted or loved ones know exactly what to do? No? Nor mine. This got me thinking, I have a few contingencies in place but no one would know how or what to do with them and so I had to find a practical way to deal with this, sure I could leave a hidden note somewhere, sure I can verbally explain but the problem is, would they find the information or would they remember. During a time of sadness and loss, I would hazard a guess at not. I was now in need of a solution and stumbled upon EmergencyWP. Feel free to take a look.

EmergencyWP Solves The Problem

I needed to be able to set and forget important information and personal information, not have to worry about where to store it or whether my trusted persons would ever find it. I wanted to secure data and release it when the time was right. More importantly I needed to know if something happened then things will be taken care of.

You’ve seen the video of Al above from EmergencyWP and I have to say Al and the team have created a great product, they are there to support you and help you in any way they can. Whilst the words freelancer are used this doesn’t mean evern if you just have a cat blog on WordPress that you cant use it. The only requisite is you have WordPress as your platform. I presented a couple of scenarios that would help me and guess what… they implemented them. They have an active Facebook community too where Al the founder responds personally to comments/questions and suggestions.

The best part of all of this is this, your website will monitor your life status! Yep, your WordPress website will simply send you an alert on a predefined schedule, simply no response on the first and final emails and guess what, your nominated trusted person will receive your information. Don’t want the emails, no problem, if you post regularly on social media, simply set up a Zappier connection and every time you post your status will be updated on your site. Want an extra layer of security, no problem, add a trustee or two. Adding a trustee means that if anything happens but you’re okay just not able to respond, they can for you. Add another trustee and you have yourself a third response to confirm your status.

EmergencyWP Trustees

Trustees are a huge safety option for both your process and the future messages. Using this add-on, you will add a second and third security layer to your entire EmergencyWP installation by adding people of your trust to the life check process.

Sometimes, it’s not enough to send future messages right after the EmergencyWP process finished (e.g. death or other incidents). Delivery Conditions enables you to send mails on specific dates or holds messages back for a specific period of time. Want to remind your loved one how much they mean to you, sure set a delivery for later on in the year or next year etc. Want to wish your child a happy 18th birthday, no problem simply select the date of that event, it’s worth mentioning that your WordPress site must still be active with the EmergencyWP plugin.

Here’s the biggest latest update… The Vault.

EmergencyWP Vault

With the Vault, you can store confidential information from more than 15 categories in your WordPress website. It will be secured with a highly secure, 256-AES military grade encryption and will hide your credentials and login data from eyes of other WordPress users or even hosting providers and hackers.

On creating a new Vault item, you can select from more than 15 categories, like in the following example, the bank accounts. Each category item will provide different input fields, which then can be encrypted by a password:

Okay okay, I could keep going with this but I wont, you need to try it and what have you to lose… Al and the team understand this may not work for everyone and so they offer you a 30 day window to get a refund, although, if you want a refund because of a fault then please get in touch with me or them and it WILL get sorted.

So how much will it cost?

EmergencyWP is available for just €19,- with the most important features like weekly life checks and unlimited messages for up to 3 contacts. This is a bargain for peace of mind. Though, personally for a lifetime package for just €197, this one is the no brainer. The lifetime package comes with everything and more. As and when Al and the team release new components they are yours for the taking.

Anyway, that’s enough links and sales pitch for today but be assured, I have been using this product for a few months now and just in that short time period Al and the team behind him have worked hard on adding more and more features. Having spoken direct with Al and one of the developers, I can only emphasise how hard they work.
