SEO in Cheltenham

Most SEO you can buy for under £500 a month is a report. Something crawls your site, produces a list of problems, and emails it to you. Fixing any of it is your job, or another invoice.

I build the crawler and I fix what it finds. That’s the whole difference, and it’s why this costs what it costs.

Your site gets audited every month, automatically

Every site on an SEO plan is crawled on a schedule by tooling I wrote. It walks every page, captures a screenshot, measures page speed, and checks the technical things that quietly cost you rankings: broken links, missing or duplicated titles, thin pages, images with no alt text, redirect chains, pages Google can’t index.

The findings land in your client portal with the screenshots attached, so you can see what I’m looking at. Then I work through them. You’re not handed a spreadsheet and wished luck.

Automating the crawl is what makes the price work. The part that eats an agency’s hours costs me almost nothing, so your money buys the fixing rather than the finding.

Being found in Cheltenham is a different job

If your customers are in Gloucestershire, you’re not competing with the whole internet. You’re competing with a handful of local firms, most of whom have never touched their Google Business Profile and have their address written three different ways across the web.

That’s winnable, and it’s usually won on unglamorous things: consistent business details everywhere Google looks, a profile that’s filled in properly, pages that answer what people actually type, and a site that loads before they give up.

What I won’t tell you

That you’ll rank first by Christmas. Nobody can promise position one, and anyone who does is either guessing or lying. SEO compounds. The first month is groundwork, months two and three are where indexing catches up, and the difference usually shows somewhere around month four to six.

If you need customers next week, spend the money on ads instead and I’ll say so.

The three plans

SEO Foundations, £199 a month

The groundwork most small business sites never had. For a site that’s technically neglected and losing traffic to problems that are cheap to fix.

  • A full automated site audit every month, in your portal, with screenshots
  • Technical issues from that audit fixed, not just listed
  • Google Business Profile and local business schema set up and kept accurate
  • Search Console and analytics watched, with traffic drops investigated
  • Indexation and crawl errors tracked month to month
  • A monthly report in plain English: what changed, what it means, what’s next
  • 1 hour of hands-on optimisation each month

Local Growth SEO, £379 a month

For ranking on the searches your customers actually use. Everything in Foundations, plus:

  • 3 hours of hands-on work each month
  • Keyword position tracking on the terms that bring enquiries, not vanity terms
  • One new or rewritten optimised page every month
  • Local citation building and directory consistency
  • Competitor monitoring, so you know what they rank for that you don’t
  • Internal linking and site structure work
  • Conversion tracking on your enquiry paths, so rankings tie back to actual leads

Content & Authority SEO, £649 a month

For competing beyond your own town, where ranking is decided by authority instead of tidiness. Everything in Local Growth, plus:

  • 6 hours of hands-on work each month
  • Two researched content pieces a month, written for search and for people
  • Link acquisition and digital PR outreach
  • Content gap analysis against whoever’s outranking you
  • A quarterly strategy session to reset priorities
  • A direct line to me, not a dashboard and an account manager

UK agencies charge £600 to £2,000 a month for this scope. These sit below that because there’s no agency overhead in the price. Extra work beyond your included hours is £45 an hour, agreed with you first. Every SEO plan has a three-month minimum term, because that is roughly how long it takes for search results to move, and then rolls monthly.

Common questions

Do I need a care plan as well?

No, but they work well together and most people end up with both. Care keeps the site up and patched. SEO makes it worth finding. A site that’s offline twice a month won’t rank however good the content is.

Does my site have to be WordPress?

The audit and the local work suit any site. The hands-on fixing is fastest on WordPress because that’s what I know best. If you’re on Wix or Shopify I can still help, I hold partner accounts for both.

What if it doesn’t work?

The minimum term is three months, because SEO changes take that long to show in the results and stopping earlier tells you nothing. After that you can stop whenever you like from your account area. I’d rather you left after four months than felt trapped for twelve. If the reporting shows nothing moving and I can’t explain why, I’ll tell you before you have to ask.

Can you undo bad SEO someone else did?

Usually. Spammy links, keyword-stuffed pages and hidden text all leave traces, and the audit finds them. Cleaning up is often the first month’s work on sites that have been through a cheap agency.

Start with an audit

Pick a plan below, or send me your website address and I’ll run the audit and tell you what it turns up before you spend anything. That costs you nothing and it’s the honest way to find out whether there’s work worth doing.
