I am Chris, and I’ve been building and rescuing WordPress sites for businesses in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and across the UK for over a decade. Below is what I do, roughly what it costs, and how it works.

WordPress website design

WordPress is the only CMS I build on, and that’s a deliberate choice. It’s flexible enough for bespoke work, straightforward enough that you can update your own content afterwards, and mature enough that it will still be supported in ten years. I also hold Wix and Shopify partnerships, so if one of those is the better fit for what you need, I’ll say so instead of sell you a WordPress build.

Every site is built on a content management system, so text and images are yours to change without paying a developer each time. Training is included if you want it.

Indicative pricing

From £300: a three-page site on a well-chosen template. You supply the text and images, I handle setup, layout, basic SEO and submission to Google and Bing.
From £500: a four-page template build: home, products or services, about, and a working contact form. Domain registration included.
From £700: a customised four-page site with bespoke design work and an animated header. Domain registration included.
Larger projects: WooCommerce stores, membership sites, bespoke functionality: quoted individually after we have talked about what you need.

Every website includes 90 days of the Essential care plan and 30 days of free technical support, so you aren’t left on your own the moment the site goes live.

WooCommerce & online stores

Selling online brings a different class of problem: payment gateways, subscriptions and recurring billing, VAT, shipping rules, stock, and the abandoned-checkout issues that quietly cost you money. I build and maintain WooCommerce stores including subscription products, Stripe and PayPal integration, and automated invoicing.

If you already have a store that’s slow, unreliable, or held together by thirty plugins, that’s fixable. And usually the fix is removing things not adding them.

Bespoke plugins & integrations

Sometimes the plugin you need doesn’t exist. When the repository has nothing that fits. Or the thing that fits is abandoned, bloated or a security risk. I build it properly for your requirements. The same goes for connecting WordPress to the systems you already run: accounting software, CRMs, booking platforms, third-party APIs.

WordPress care plans

Monitoring, updates, backups and support from £49 a month. Centralised monitoring scans every 24 hours, uptime alerts reach me within five minutes, and urgent issues get a response the same working day, or within the hour on the top plan. Every plan includes support time you can spend on whatever you like.

Hacked site rescue

Fixed £200 to clean a compromised WordPress site, find and close the entry point, rotate every credential, and get you removed from Google’s blacklist. If I can’t fix it, you don’t pay.

Hosting

Hosting is handled by our sister company, No Problem Hosting. Fast UK-based servers, free SSL, and daily backups, from £80 a year. Buying hosting and a care plan together earns a discount, and hosting may be free for the first year depending on your design package. If you would rather arrange your own hosting, I’ll happily help you set it up.

How working together goes

We talk first. I try to meet clients before taking work on. Locally over a coffee if you’re near Cheltenham, or by phone, Teams or Google Chat if not. No charge, and no obligation.
You get a quote before anything starts. A written figure based on the actual scope, not a vague day rate that drifts.
I build it. You see progress as it happens rather than a reveal at the end, and you can change your mind while changing it’s still cheap.
It goes live, and I stay. 90 days of Essential care and 30 days of free technical support come with every build.

I work remotely and run a completely paperless operation, so location is rarely a constraint. Though if you’re in Gloucestershire, I would rather meet you in person.
