2. Our services
We provide:
- Website design and build on WordPress and WooCommerce, quoted per project. Indicative package prices are published on our website; larger projects are quoted individually.
- WordPress care plans (Essential, Professional and Commerce), billed monthly.
- SEO plans (SEO Foundations, Local Growth SEO and Content & Authority SEO), billed monthly.
- Hacked site rescue, a fixed-price clean-up of a compromised WordPress site.
- WordPress training, delivered as recorded guides and a live session.
- Mobile app development, quoted per project.
Current plan contents and prices are set out on our website. We may update, change or withdraw a service with reasonable notice. If we withdraw a service you have paid for in advance, we will refund the unused portion.
Care plans are delivered through WP Site Warden, our WordPress maintenance brand. It is a trading name of Chris D Projects Ltd, so your contract remains with us; WP Site Warden is the name you will see on the monitoring, support and review side of the service.
Hosting is provided by our sister company, No Problem Hosting Ltd, under its own terms. We can recommend and arrange hosting, but the hosting contract is between you and No Problem Hosting.
3. Quotes and project work
Every project is quoted in writing before work starts, based on the scope we agree with you. The quote sets out what is included, what is not, and the payment schedule. Work outside the quoted scope is quoted separately or charged at our hourly rate (section 6).
Unless the quote says otherwise, project work is invoiced as a deposit before work starts and the balance before the site goes live. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
We need your input to build a site: content, images, access to any existing accounts, and timely feedback. Timescales in a quote assume that input arrives when we ask for it, and they move if it does not.
Every new website we build includes 90 days of the Essential care plan and 30 days of free technical support from launch. After that you may continue on a care plan or not, as you prefer; there is no obligation.
4. Care plans
Care plans are rolling monthly subscriptions, billed in advance to the payment method on your account, with no minimum term. You can cancel at any time from your account area or by emailing us; your plan continues to the end of the period you have paid for and no further charge is made. There are no cancellation fees.
Each plan includes the monitoring, updates, backups, security and support time described on the plan page. Support time is per month and does not roll over. Work beyond your included time is charged at our hourly rate, agreed with you first.
Response targets, during UK business hours (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, excluding public holidays):
| Essential | Professional | Commerce | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Urgent: site down, visibly broken or compromised | Same working day | Within 4 hours | Within 1 hour |
| Everything else | Two working days | 24 hours | 24 hours |
Care plans cover maintenance and support of an existing site. They are not development retainers: redesigns, new features, migrations to another host and fixing problems caused by changes made without our knowledge are quoted separately. A plan does not clean a site that is already compromised when it starts; that is a hacked site rescue (section 7), after which a plan can begin.
5. SEO plans
SEO plans are billed monthly in advance and have a minimum term of three monthly payments, because search results take that long to move and stopping earlier tells you nothing. After the third payment the plan rolls monthly and can be cancelled at any time from your account area or by email, ending at the end of the paid period.
We do not guarantee rankings, traffic or revenue. Search engines control their results; we control the quality and consistency of the work, which is reported to you each month.
6. Hourly work
Work outside a quote or plan is charged at £45 per hour, billed in 30-minute increments, and always agreed with you before it starts.
7. Hacked site rescue
Hacked site rescue is a fixed price of £200 for a single WordPress site, covering the work described on the rescue page: containment, finding the entry point, cleaning, closing the hole, blacklist recovery and a written explanation. If we cannot fix it, you do not pay. Networks of sites, sites that need rebuilding rather than cleaning, and work on the server itself are quoted separately once we have looked.
We take a full copy of the site’s files and database before touching anything. We cannot promise that data deleted or altered by an attacker before we were engaged can be recovered.
8. Training
The WordPress Training Pack is a one-off purchase delivered as recorded guides made on your own site, a live session, and written material you keep. It is included free with any site we build.
9. Apps
Our own apps are sold through the Apple App Store under Apple’s terms and Apple handles payment and refunds. Each app has its own privacy policy and support page on this site. App development for clients is quoted per project under section 3, and the finished app, its source code and its store listing belong to you on full payment.
10. Payment
We accept card payments through Stripe, PayPal, and bank transfer. Recurring plans renew automatically to the payment method on file until cancelled. Invoices are issued electronically and are due within 14 days unless a quote says otherwise.
If an invoice is more than 14 days overdue we may pause work or suspend a plan until it is paid, and we may charge statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
11. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- give us accurate information and working access to the site, hosting and accounts we need;
- hold valid licences for any premium themes, plugins or tools on your site that we did not supply;
- tell us before making significant changes to the site, its plugins, theme or hosting while on a care plan;
- keep your billing details up to date;
- only supply content you have the right to use.
We are not responsible for problems caused by changes made to your site by you or a third party without our knowledge.
12. Ownership
Everything in your website that is yours stays yours: your content, images, brand and data. Custom code, designs and other deliverables we produce for you under a paid engagement become yours when the engagement is paid in full. Until then they remain ours.
Third-party themes, plugins and services are licensed under their own terms. Premium plugin licences supplied as part of a care plan remain ours and stop when the plan does. The tools, scripts and processes we use to deliver our services remain ours.
We may show work we have done for you in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
13. Liability
We carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. If we cause you direct loss through our negligence or breach of these terms, we accept liability for that loss subject to the limits below.
Our total liability to you in connection with any project is limited to the fees you paid for that project. Our total liability in connection with a plan or any other service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data beyond what is recoverable from the most recent verified backup, for indirect or consequential loss, or for events outside our reasonable control, including hosting provider failures, third-party plugin vulnerabilities and force majeure.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Backups. Care plans include backups at the frequency stated for the plan. We recommend keeping your own independent backup as well.
14. Confidentiality
Both of us will keep confidential the credentials, business information and anything marked confidential that we share to deliver the work, during and after the engagement. We only share your information with third parties where the law requires it, where it is needed to deliver the service (the providers named in our Privacy Policy), or where you have agreed.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to clients on a plan by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and you may cancel before then if you do not agree to them.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, email info@chrisdprojects.co.uk first and we will try to resolve it informally.
